Have you ever been in a place where nothing is exciting? Maybe, even jealous of someone living their life on purpose? You asked this question about a 100 times, what on earth am I supposed to be doing? Everything you do, you just not feeling it.
I understand, I was there to. It’s not because I was taught to be that way or even had a reason. Yes I grow –up in the church, know Jesus, wonderful husband, beautiful children, nice house, and great career. But something was still missing.
I did not have a sense of anything I did mattered. Nor was I causing someone else life to be better. I remember one fall morning standing in the mirror looking at myself and crying. Asking this very question, why was I even born? Then the thought came across my mind, since you don’t know, go ahead take the pills and kill yourself. I then saw my children’s faces flash before my eyes and the question now was why would you do that to them?
At that moment I cried out to God for help, he answered. I don’t know how the T.V. station got to the channel it was on, but all I heard was these word.
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore .Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more. But the master of the Sea heard my despairing cry. From the waters lifted me, now safe am I. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lofted me.
I fell across the bed in tears, knowing that was for me. I went to church the next Sunday and felt a drawing to the front, not realize I looked back , I had four little girls following right behind me from a sleep over my daughters had the night before. They all followed me right to the front. The Pastor said these words to me. We are going to grow you up in your purpose. At that moment, I knew God was speaking to me.
Why did God speak to me in this way? I am no better than the next person. Maybe because I asked the question, “What is my Purpose”?
I know what you are saying, why is the lady getting all churchy on me? Not trying to do that at all. Just want you to see where I been and why I carry the hashtag #livingmylifeonpurpose. This is my motivating factor, my driving point. I look at everything in my life as a justification for me being put here on earth.
As I grew into my purpose. I begin to make sure I did things towards my purpose. Sure, I have had people say I was not equipped, qualified or even good enough. But I do not let that stop me. Once you have your mind and heart made up to do the very thing you was put on earth to do, you then have an “Unshakeable Faith”, my other hashtag.
I not only begin to do things towards my purpose, but I also begin to study people and their actions more. The reason I did that is because I knew a part of my purpose was to encourage others to live in theirs. Often I will have questions running through my head like. What really matters to people? Do people know their action today can dictate their tomorrow? Why do they act like that? What has caused them to be so insecure? Do they really know their purpose?
For example, if you have a person that never celebrates or congratulate you. The reason could be because they have never been celebrated or congratulated.
I believe when you know your purpose, you begin to attach everything you need in your life to fulfill it. You also walk in such a confidence and surety that nothing or no one will take you off course.
As I think of a person more and more that walks around not knowing who they are. Why they was born to live. I imagine a person from a foreign country put in the middle of nowhere and asking these words, where am I and where am I to go from here?
To know your purpose is to see and hear more clearly.
The following is a recent interview, conducted by CBNTV with Dr. Munroe. The interviewer asked why Dr. Munroe thought he was put on this earth.
Dr. Munroe who in an interview with CBNTV recently explained his life’s mission. As he often said: “The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without a purpose.”
Dr. Munroe’s reply: “I was born to transform followers into leaders and leaders into agents of change. I was created by God and sent to this earth to help the follower discover that trapped inside of them is a great leader – to help them reconnect to their true abilities, their true potential and to help them become all that they were born to be and so I am very clear on what I am born to do. It energizes me every minute of the day – in fact my days are too short because I am so excited about my purpose. “
His first priority, he said, was his “spiritual relationship with God, I want to maintain that.” His second priority was his wife, and children. “That’s my priority - it’s more important than my job, my career, speaking to a million people, television - no it’s my family. My third priority is my passion and my vision is to have people discover who they are in Christ.”
Dr. Monroe will be missed, but his legacy lives on.
Reasons Why Most People Never Discover Their Full Purpose
1. You never pray and ask God.
2. You live from the outside in, not the inside out.
3. You look for a career before you listen for a calling.
4. Your eyes are on everyone else purpose.
5. You keep yourself too busy.
6. You don’t think of yourself as useable.
7. You are running and do not want to know.
The world is waiting for you. Let’s make it a little more personable your family and friends are waiting. A purpose life is a fulfilled life, exciting and meaningful.
Think of Joseph the first son born to Jacob who had great dreams. Joseph begins relating his dreams—prophetic visions showing Joseph one day ruling over his family. His brothers hated him so much that they sold him out of their lives at the age of 17 to a high-ranking Egyptian named Potiphar. Then he was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife for rape, and cast into prison .God had His hand still on Joseph. Two years later, the king himself was having some dreams, and the cupbearer remember Joseph’s gift of interpretation. The king calls for Joseph and he predicts. For his wisdom, Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt, second only to the king .God had a divine purpose for this young man. When the famine strikes, even Canaan is affected, and Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain. While there, they meet their long-lost brother, whom they do not recognize. Joseph’s brothers bow down to him, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. Joseph then reveals his identity to his brothers and forgives their wrongdoing. Jacob and his family move to Egypt to be with Joseph.
Dream young people, you may have been missed treated and thrown in jail. God still has a purpose and a plan for your life. All you need to do is ask.
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10)
